Lewisville is the largest of the cities around the south end of Lewisville Lake, and it offers the widest range of homes and price points. If you want options, it's a great place to start. Here's what I'd want you to know.

What draws people to Lewisville

Old Town Lewisville. The historic downtown has locally owned restaurants and shops, Wayne Ferguson Plaza across from City Hall, and the MCL Grand Theater, a restored 1940s movie theater that hosts concerts, plays and art shows.

Outdoor space. Toyota of Lewisville Railroad Park has sixteen sports fields, a dog park, a skate park and a walking trail around the perimeter. The Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area (LLELA) is a nature preserve of about 2,000 acres with prairie, forest and wetlands, plus trails for hiking, birding and kayaking. There's a small entry fee, so check llela.org before you go.

Rail and highways. Lewisville has two A-train stations, Old Town and Hebron, with a connection to DART at Trinity Mills. I-35E and SH-121 run through the city, which makes it one of the easier places in the county for commuting.

The kind of homes you'll find

Lewisville has a little of everything: condos and townhomes, established single-family neighborhoods, and newer builds. That variety is a big reason first-time buyers look here. It also means two listings at the same price can be very different in age and upkeep, so we'll compare the full monthly cost and the condition, not just the price.

Schools: check by address

Most of Lewisville is served by Lewisville ISD. Confirm the assigned campuses for the specific address with the district before you make an offer.

Getting around

Live near an A-train station and you have a real alternative to I-35E traffic. If you drive, test your route at the time you'd actually commute.

How Lewisville compares nearby

Want a quieter, built-out city on the lake? Look at Highland Village. Want more parks and master-planned neighborhoods? Look at Flower Mound. Shopping under $400,000? Read what I'd look at in Corinth and Lake Dallas too.

Want to see what's for sale here?

I'll set you up with listing alerts straight from the North Texas MLS, so you see new homes the day they hit the market. Get listing alerts, or grab my free 2026 Buyer's and Seller's Guides for the Texas-specific steps, from the option period to your homestead exemption.

Local details change. Verify school assignments, tax rates and park information with the official sources for any specific property.
